Realtor.com Goes After HomeAdvisor"s Homes For Sale Area

today that its flagship site REALTOR.comŪ, the official site of the National Association of REALTORSŪ, attracted 4.36 million unique users in April 2001 according to new home/work panel data from Nielsen/NetRatings. According to Jupiter Media Metrix, REALTOR.comŪ attracted 3.23 million unique users in April. Separately, a Jupiter Media Metrix custom segment report analyzed March 2001 traffic directly relevant to homes for sale on Microsoft’s HomeAdvisor in order to provide a comparable number to REALTOR.comŪ. The report confirmed REALTOR.com’sŪ commanding lead over HomeAdvisor’s “homes for sale” area: REALTOR.comŪ attracted 3.3 million unique users in March while HomeAdvisor’s “homes for sale” area drew only 1.5 million unique users in March. That is, nearly twice as many consumers are looking at REALTOR.com’sŪ listings information. Both April 2001 ratings reports also indicated that consumers are spending the most time looking at REALTOR.com’sŪ online home listings. REALTOR.comŪ logged 171.4 million total user minutes or approximately 15.8 minutes spent per visit according to Nielsen/NetRatings and 84.1 million total user minutes or approximately 13.0 minutes spent per visit according to Jupiter Media Metrix.
