Web Cards: New Way to Promote Your Site

Once you have a Web site, you can"t just sit back and wait for prospects to come to it. You knew that, right? Search engine placement is important, of course. But being found by the search engines isn"t all there is to attracting people to your Web site. You need to take a look at what efforts you are making to promote your site. Are you including your site address in the signature line of every email? Is your site address on every piece of paper you send out (letters, faxes, memos, etc.)? Do you remind people to visit your site in your voice mail messages? Do you feature your site prominently in every newspaper and Homes & Land ad? Is your site address visible on your automobile, as it is on many of the Allen F. Hainge CyberStars(tm) cars? Is it on your sign rider? Here"s another idea for promoting your site: Web Cards, dynamic mailing or handout pieces from Web Cards of Plainfield, N.J. I first came across Web Cards three years ago. I was impressed with them then, and I"m impressed with them now. I"m surprised more sales associates, companies and builders don"t use them. You can get an idea of the various styles of Web Cards. (Included on the page are samples of the cards used by CyberStars(tm) Judy Niemeyer of Fairhope, AL and Jay Burnham of Beverly, MA.) The folks who produce Web Cards capture any Web page and reproduce it in full color on the front of either 4" x 6" or 5" x 8" sized postcards, suitable for mailing or for passouts. The cards are really high quality, and you can use them in any number of ways. I found some great tips for using Web Cards in my business on their "Winner of the Month" page. Prices start at $95 for 500 one sided 4x6 cards plus shipping. If you want printing on the back, it"s an additional $45 for 500 4x4 cards. Complete pricing details are available on the site. Give "em a try...they"re dynamite! Editor"s Note: Allen has arranged a 10% discount on your first order with them. Just mention his name or "CyberStars" when you order. Don"t Let an Over-priced Home be a Humbling Lesson
Across the country the real estate market is slowing and the news media is reporting on the decline in sales, housing prices, and appreciation. Quite often this creates fear and a holding back by buyers as they wait to see just how low prices will go. One TV news station in Sacramento reported that desperate sellers are turning to ancient spiritual/religious rituals to help sell their homes, such as burying a statue of Saint Joseph in the backyard.

Is GRI Really Worth the Effort?
Question: As a comparative newcomer to the Realtor ranks, I"ve got a couple of questions about GRI. First, is it really worth the effort and the expense? I would have to travel to another city to participate. Second, if I do decide to attend, when is the best time in my career to do it? My broker is really enthusiastic about it, but I"m getting some mixed signals from the some of the old timers in the office.
